Energy Sovereignty at Varadero Airport

The installation of a photovoltaic solar farm is included in the 2025 projections for the Juan Gualberto Gómez International Airport, an investment that «will give us energy sovereignty,» according to General Director José Antonio García Manso.

This would cover the maximum demand of this airport, the second most important in the country, «reinforcing our commitment to the development of renewable energy sources,» said García Manso.

He added that in addition to the advantage of generating «our own electricity, there is also the fact that we are relieving the province, since we are in the group of large consumers, and this will undoubtedly be a very good contribution,» reported Radio 26’s website.

While the project is taking shape, at the Varadero airport they decided to support the Jovellanos II photovoltaic solar park, and formed a contingent of 15 workers to train us in this type of work and also to speed up its execution.
