The President of the Council of State and the Council of Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, welcomed on Monday the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission, H.E. Ms Federica Mogherini, during her official visit to Cuba.
In a friendly atmosphere, they discussed the recent conclusion of the second Joint Council between Cuba and the European Union and the implementation of the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement. They also exchanged views on the good state of bilateral relations and on the tightening of the US blockade against Cuba and its extraterritorial effects, as well as other issues on the international agenda.
Mogherini was accompanied by the European Union ambassador to Cuba, Alberto Navarro; the Cabinet Chief of the High Representative, Stefano Grassi; and the director for the Americas, Edita Hrda.
The Cuban side was represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, the Director General of Bilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emilio Lozada Garcia, and the Cuban Ambassador to the European Union, Norma Goicochea Estenoz. (Taken from Cuban News Agency)
