The tourism sector is moving forward in the process of electing delegates to the final sessions of the 22nd Congress of the Central of Workers of Cuba (CTC), the great event of the Cuban working population, where it will participate with a total of 26 representatives, some of them directly elected, thanks to the excellent performance of the two groups with this merit.
Provinces such as Artemisa, Villa Clara, Matanzas, Santiago de Cuba and Holguín have already experienced this transcendental moment, announced Julio Enrique Morales Verea, general secretary of the National Union of Hotel and Tourism Workers (SNTHT, in Spanish).
Morales Vera said that the 22nd Congress of the CTC will take place in the same year in which the SNTHT National Conference will end in January, on the 17th and 18th, a process of in-depth discussions, he said, of issues detrimental to the work force of the Ministry of Tourism.
Rafaela Matos Ross, General Secretary of the Provincial Office of the SNTHT in Santiago de Cuba, described as memorable the vote to determine who would form the delegation of the Indomitable Land, in which «many deserved to form it, but it was necessary to adapt to the number of four. The most important thing, she emphasized, was «the recognition of the trajectory of those who were pre-candidates and candidates for delegates».
Sonia Amable Mustelier, secretary of the union bureau of the Hotel San Juan of the Islazul Hotel Group, Daysi Osaris Martínez Francis, member of the SNTHT secretariat, Leosnevi Ferrote Vega, general secretary of the CTC in Guamá, and Rafaela Matos were elected to represent Santiago de Cuba, a province that will enter the final stage of the 22nd Congress with the pride of being the best in the country in terms of trade union results.
Jorge Pupo, from the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, and Amaurys Echevarría Ruiz will participate directly in the final phase of the 22nd Congress of the CTC, a delegation that also includes private sector union leaders Joel Báez Almeida, from Matanzas, and Ana Rosa Pérez Rodríguez, from Las Tunas.
