With Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, President of the Republic, in attendance, the Council of State met on Friday and agreed to set the date for the election of provincial governors and vice governors as Saturday, January 18, and to that effect, delegates to the Municipal Assemblies of People’s Power will meet simultaneously that day, throughout the country.
The body also approved a Decree-Law «On mechanization, agricultural drainage and water supply for animals», to provide the legal basis for the development of these activities and contribute to achieving more rational water use, improve infrastructure and agricultural equipment, while increasing productivity and the use of advanced technologies.
In compliance with provisions of the Constitution of the Republic, the Council of State conducted a preliminary analysis of three proposed laws which will be submitted for approval at the Fourth Ordinary Session of the National Assembly, to meet this week: the 2020 State Budget Law; one establishing the Organization and Functioning of the National Assembly of People’s Power and the Council of State ; and one on the Organization and Functioning of the Municipal Assemblies of People’s Power and People’s Councils.
Also approved during the working session, held at the National Capitol, were the Comptroller General of the Republic’s Audit Directives for 2020. (Taken from en.granma.cu)
