Cargando...His Eminence Jaime Lucas Cardinal Ortega Alamino, Archbishop Emeritus of San Cristabal de La Habana, passed away on Friday and his funeral will be held in the Havana Cathedral.
Cardinal Ortega Alamino died at the age of 82 at dawn on Friday, July 26. His priestly vocation, his academic formation and human sensibility allowed him to gain access to the highest ecclesiastical dignity.
His tireless pastoral work and his love for Cuba led him to decisively strengthen the relations between the Roman Catholic Church and the State.
His funeral will be held in the Cathedral of Havana, which was his seat.
The obituary of the Archbishopric indicates that Cardinal Jaime had passed away and felling his physical absence, they relive, along with grateful affection, the memories of his personal quality and his tireless pastoral zeal.
