Mendive’s performance is part of the event ‘Artes de Cuba: from the Island to the World’, which opened on May 8 and will conclude on June 3.
Mendive’s special guests will be Yosvany Terry, a Cuban saxophonist and composers based in New York; the percussionist Mauricio Herrera, who also resides in the Big Apple, and the classical pianist Adonis González, who lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
In addition to Mendive’s performance, the festival’s program on Monday also includes the show Art and Fashion at the Millennium Stage, where Sandra de Huelbes, Ignacio Carmona, Otto Chaviano, Mariela Alemán and Celia Ledón will exhibit their works.
This extraordinary mixture of imagination, fine arts and design presents costumes inspired in paintings and sculptures by Cuban artists, the Kennedy Center announced. (Taken from Prensa Latina)
