A floral tribute by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and Amy General Raul Castro, President of the councils of State and Ministers, recalled on Thursday in this capital the victims of the act of sabotage 40 years ago against a Cubana de Aviacion airliner in mid air, which caused the death of all 73 people on board, 57 of them Cuban.

Mercedes Lopez, member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party (CC of the CCP) and first secretary of the political organization in Havana, as well as Olga Lida Tapia, member of the Secretariat of the CC of the CCP, headed the tribute at the Mausoleum of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) at the Cristobal Colon Cemetery, where they placed flowers on various tombs.

The same thing did the relatives of the victims of the abominable crime of October 6, 1976, in front of the coasts of Barbados, workers if civil aeronautics, representatives of the sports movement, of the FAR and of the Ministry of Food Industry and Fisheries.

Shortly before, a pilgrimage of hundreds of people, with photos of the victims and an enormous banner that read We Demand Justice! referring to the impunity of the criminals, marched to the tombs where the mortal remains of the few ones that could be rescued from the depths of the sea, rest.

The blowing-up of the airplane of Cubana de Aviacion, flight CU-455, which covered the route Guyana-Trinidad and Tobago-Barbados-Jamaica and finally Havana, constituted a horrifying event, something that had never happened before in the western hemisphere.

But the expected justice never appeared and, on the contrary, the terrorists of Cuban origin Orlando Bosch (deceased in Miami in 2011) and Luis Posada Carriles, confessed intellectual authors of the abominable crime, are protected by the government of the United States.
