On Sunday, July 20, the Cuban Film Institute gave a beautiful gift in the Children’s Day, to the Cuban family with the world premiere of Meñique, a film produced by the Studios of Animation, production Fiction, TV Galicia and the Villa Film Foundation from Venezuela.
The funny film, the first produced in Cuba in 3D, is a free version of story from the Edad de Oro (Golden Age) by Jose Marti, which although introducing new characters and adventures, it is faithful to the moral that knowledge better than power and it manages to get an immediate empathy with the public, as it happened this memorable Sunday, July 20 at Chaplin, 23 y 12, Yara movies and others.
The new Meñique recreates the original story with contemporaneous codes with excellent music with songs from Silvio Rodriguez Cuban famous songwriter, orchestrations by the Spanish Manuel Riveiro and sound track of Edesio Alejandro. The premiere was at Chaplin cinema and was attended by Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, First Deputy President of the Councils of State and Ministers; Marino Murillo, deputy president of the Council of Ministers; Julian Gonzalez, Minister of Culture and some more than 200 technicians and artists that, leaded by Ernesto Padron (scriptwriter, designer and director) worked in the film.
The Studios of Animation from ICAIC and Trimagen Productions joined the screening of the premiere with the presentation of several promotional products and a DVD with a high fidelity copy of the film, besides historical data, characteristics of the characters, images of the sketches, part of the artistic creation, a video with fragments of the tapings of the voices and interviews to the director Ernesto pardon. The DVD costs 2.50 cuc in Trimagen shops in the entire country.
