Uruguayan President Rejects Blockade of Cuba

HAVANA, Cuba, April 1 (acn).- Uruguayan President Jose Mujica rejected the US economic, commercial and financial blockade of Cuba and alerted on attempts to impose sanctions on Venezuela.

In a statement issued by the Uruguayan Presidency’s Communication Department, Mujica said that as the world is asking the United States to put down its blockade of Cuba, there are voices in Washington calling for Sanctions against Caracas.

The Uruguayan head of state said Venezuela and all Latin America need to be respected first and that peace, tolerance and negotiations are values to have in mind and cultivate to have a Venezuela united to all South nations.

Our constitutions may have limitations, but it is respect the necessary way to follow, said Mujica.
