The 23rd International Book Fair will be from February 13 to 23, 2014 with the slogan, Reading helps growing in Havana, Cuba.
In the rest of the Cuban provinces it will end on March 9. It will be devoted to the writers Nersys Felipe Herrera, National Award of Literature in 2011 and the historian Rolando Rodriguez Garcia, National Award of Social Sciences in 2008. The guest country is the Republic of Ecuador and its cultural diversity.
The fair will pay tribute to the bicentenary great Cuban writer Gertrudis Gomez de Avellaneda. The historical facilities of San Carlos de la Cabana Fortress and the Castillo de los Tres Reyes del Morro will be the main venues of the fair, although there will be other literary events in other venues in the capital.
This event will have the participation of 166 personalities from several continents, and representatives from 138 Publishing Houses. It is foreseen the sale of about two millions and a half volumes.
