The General Comptroller of the Republic of Cuba, Gladys Bejerano Portela, also vice president of the Council of State, will check about 280 entities from October 21 to November 22, 2013, as part of the VIII National Internal Control Checkups, she reported in a press conference.
She noted the exercise has the main goal to evaluate the control system of the priority programs of the country, as well as to be a preventive and educative action in the improvement and application of the agreements of the VI Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba.
It is not an unexpected inspection. The auditors of the entities and the staff were given the program of what will be evaluated, which has the laws associated to the topic and it represents the working guideline for this and future tests.
Among the main topics to check there are the deliver and use of lands in usufruct, the fulfilment of the measures for the strengthening of the basic units of cooperative production, the production process for the exploitation, importation and substitution of importations, as well as the sale of construction materials to the population.
Alina Vicente, deputy general comptroller informed they have planned to check 280 entities and make 29 special checkups, with the participation of the national system of auditors and the collaboration of the National Association of Cuban Economists, also students and professors from the Faculties of Economy, Law, Industrial and Agriculture Engineering from all provinces.
Compared to 2012- she said- the total of the entities checked up represents a 12, 6 percent of increase. Nevertheless, that increase is not the most important thing, but the fact that the new programs cover the greatest quantity of entities to be checked.
