With a season qualified as luxurious, the Babul Folk Company from Guantanamo celebrates its 20 years of foundation, promoting the most autochthonous things of the musical and dancing traditions of the easterner territory of Cuba and the Afro-Caribbean, Anglo-Saxon and francophone culture of the countries from the region.
Babul, directed by teacher Ernesto Llewelyn since it was founded in 1994, contextualizes in many of its compositions the Caribbean folklore respecting the essence of the rhythmic basis of these compositions and the elemental steps of the dance performed in bateyes (small villages) or mountains, rural zones or cities, which resisted the influences of the time.
Together with the also companies from Guantanamo Danza Libre and Danza Fragmentada, Babul Folk Ballet completes a trilogy that turns Guantanamo in one of the strongest squares of the country in the art of dancing and the expression of emotions with the body.
