The call of the general secretary of the Cuban Workers Federation (CTC), Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, in a meeting with secretary generals of the unions for May Day, was to make the roots of the nation vibrate in this parade.
Guilarte stressed the special meaning of this International Workers’ Day where we arrive immersed, as expressed in the call of the CTC, in the development of economy, to be more efficient and strengthen a prosperous and sustainable socialism we are devoted to build, and so increase the level and quality of life in our people.
He reminded that this year, we have great motivations with the 55th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution, the 75th of the CTC, the debates of the recent celebrated 20th Congress of the organization and the tribute to Lazaro Peña, known as the Captain of the Working Class, with the commemoration of the four decades of his death.
We have to talk about our Captain of the Working Class every day, so we can keep alive the legacy he left us, he noted.
This will be a parade of joy, party and ask the unions coordinate with the provincial leaders of the government, so that it can be felt everywhere. At the same time, he made a call to stimulate the initiative in relation to the propaganda on May Day and the preparations in each place for the mobilization.
