The International Convention on Science, Technology and Innovation opened in Havana yesterday with researchers from all over the world, focused on issues such as information and communication technologies, renewable energy sources and nanosciences.
Promoting the analysis of the progress and achievements in research and innovation in many areas is one of the objectives of the event, which includes 10 parallel events, María Luisa Zamora, member of the organizing committee, told Prensa Latina.
A workshop on nanoscience, a specialty that presented a national program for its strengthening as an essential pillar in the economic and social development of the island, is held in the forum for the first time.
Synthesis, purification, characterization and operation of nanostructures, their applications in the economy and the society are among the issues to be discussed in this section.
An exhibition fair, in which the main scientific and technological results of national and foreign companies, will be parallel on display.
Organized by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment and the Agency for Nuclear Energy and Advanced Technologies of that entity, the event, which will last until Friday, March 9, takes place at the Conference Center in Havana. (Taken from Prensa Latina)
