President Miguel Diaz-Canel is leading on Thursday a Council of Ministers visit to the western Pinar del Rio province.
Some weeks ago, Diaz-Canel led a working visit to the eastern province of Holguin, one of the main productive, industrial and tourist places in Cuba.
Since he took office on April 2018, the president assumed government tours of the country, as part of his working strategy.
In those territories, he checks the development of Cuban priority programs in social and economic areas, holds meetings with executives and talks with residents.
Known as Cuba’s westernmost province, Pinar del Rio stands out for its beautiful natural landscapes, including the world-famous Viñales Valley.
The tobacco leaf is also harvested in its soils from which some of the most prestigious tobacco brands, highly coveted in the international market, are produced. (Taken from Prensa Latina)
