Raul Castro to Speak on 60th Anniversary of Cuban Revolution

Army General Raul Castro, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, will speak at the ceremony that will take place in this western city on Tuesday on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution.

According to an official press release published in Granma newspaper, the main national event on the 60th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution on January 1 will be held at the Santa Ifigenia patrimonial cemetery in Santiago de Cuba.

The event is scheduled for 17:15 hours, local time, and will be broadcast on national radio and television from the cemetery, which holds the tomb of the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, as well as those of heros from Cuba’s war for independence like Carlos Manuel de Cespedes and Jose Marti.
