Cuban First Vice-President Salvador Valdes met with United Nations Deputy Secretary General Amina J. Mohammed, local media reported.
During the cordial meeting, the two officials exchanged viewpoints about the importance and prospects of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) for the region, the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and other international issues.
Valdes briefed Mohammed about the update of Cuba’s economic and social model, as well as the Life Task, a State plan to counter climate change.
The UN deputy secretary general visited Cuba on the occasion of the 37th session of the ECLAC meeting in Havana, Granma newspaper reported. (Taken from Prensa Latina)
