The president of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (Parlatino), Panama’s Elias Castillo, congratulated recently elected Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez.
Castillo posted a message on Twitter along with a photo with Diaz-Canel during a coordination meeting was held in Havana with member countries of Parlatino, to which Cuba belongs.
The Panamanian government also congratulated the new president through a message saying ‘the people and Government of the Republic of Panama congratulate the Cuban people for Miguel Diaz-Canel’s election as a Cuban President by the National Assembly of the island, who succeeds President Raul Castro, after 12 years leading the country,’ an official note said.
‘The Panamanian government predicts success in his management and expresses confidence that the strong ties between the two sister nations will continue strengthening,’ the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs concluded. (Taken from Prensa Latina)
