Cuban Doctors Arrive in Vietnam


The first four Cuban doctors from a group of 17 who will begin working in Vietnam this year arrived in Hanoi yesterday as part of the joint decision to increase cooperation in this area as well.

According to a contract signed between the Cuban Medical Services Enterprise (CSMC) and Thu Cuc International General Hospital in Hanoi, the island’s doctors will work for two years in this medical center.

They are pediatrician Radmila Manso, cosmetic surgeons Liban Valdes Diaz and Jesus Rodriguez, and specialist in Internal Medicine, Jesus Morillo, all of them have already worked in other countries.

The four physicians, and another 12, will join Jose Hernandez during this month. Hernandez was already in this capital and will be the head of the medical mission.

The head of the Commercial Office at the Cuban embassy in Vietnam, Yamel Ruiz, and officials Yudisley Cruz and Orlando Perez, as well as managers of Thu Cuc Hospital, welcomed them at the Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi.

In November 2016, following a visit by President Tran Dai Quang to Cuba, the two countries agreed several actions to strengthen bilateral relations, with special emphasis on areas where each country has the potential and advantages to complement themselves.

Public health, biotechnology and pharmacology, along with agriculture, science and technology, telecommunications, radio and television, energy, construction, defense, tourism, culture, sports and education, were among them. (Taken from Prensa Latina)
