According to an official release, both heads of state held a meeting in which they agreed on the will to strengthen the solidarity, cooperation and brotherhood ties between both nations.

The Cuban head of State reaffirmed that the present situation in Western Sahara is urgently requiring a big effort to implement the relevant United Nations resolutions so as to guarantee the Sahrawi people´s self-determination, as well as the exercise of their legitimate right to live in peace in their own territory.

Previously, the Sahrawi president paid tribute to the Cuba´s National Hero Jose Marti at the homonymous Memorial of Havana´s Revolution Square, accompanied by Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra.
