The 10-year-old girl has been chosen from around 30 children of the region, said Alberto Loreydis, representative for the Latin American and Caribbean area of the traditional annual event organized by Ukraine, Russia and Belarus.
The song ‘Que suenen los tambores’, by Cuban composer Osmany Espinosa and popularized by Cuban singer, Laritza Bacallao, in 2014, will be one of them.
She will also sing ‘Sorry,’ a song recorded by Canadian artist, Justin Bieber, on his album ‘Purpose’, composed by Julia Michaels, Justin Tranter and Bieber himself, and put on the music market in 2015.
Hernandez, who is a student of the ‘Héroes de Playa Giron’ primary school, southwest of Havana, is the first Latin contestant in the Slaviasnki Bazar children’s competition and stands out in her local context in dance activities and children’s songs.
The 15th edition of the Vitebsk International Children’s Music Competition, a preamble of the 26th International Festival of Arts ‘Slaviasnki Bazar’, will be held from July 10 to 13, and will conclude on July 18th. (Taken from Prensa Latina)
