The voices of writers, artists and other participants came together to call for an end to the U.S. blockade on Cuba, at the International Book Fair, held in Havana.
The San Carlos de la Cabaña fortress, the main venue of the fair, hosts ‘Mi Papalote contra el Bloqueo’ (My Comet against the Blockade), a comet contest that demands the lifting of that U.S. policy using the colors white, blue and red and the labels #NoMasBloqueo and #UnBlockCuba.
The slogans will be raised to the sky at similar events in other areas of the Cuban capital, such as Ciudad Deportiva (a sports complex) and the former Monte Barreto area, located in the Havana neighborhood of Miramar.
The International Book Fair has been demanding the end to the U.S. blockade February 15, by launching books such as ‘Fidel Castro Ruz. La Crisis de America Latina, Diagnósticos y Soluciones’, compiled by Luis Suarez, and ‘El Espectaculo Electoral más Costoso del Mundo’, by Ramon Sanchez-Parodi.
‘El Sistema Financiero de los Estados Unidos’, by Francisco Soberon, and ‘Cuba y los Cubanoamericanos. El Fenomeno Migratorio Cubano’, by Jesus Arboleya, were also launched at the book fair. (Taken from Prensa Latina)
