The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and Portugal’s President, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, have held a friendly meeting in Havana, according to local media reports.
During the meeting held yesterday, they talked about several issues on the international agenda and the friendly relationships between the two countries.
Rebelo de Sousa spoke about the results of the UN vote against the U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade on Cuba, highlighting his country’s stance condemning the universally rejected extraterritorial practice.
Fidel Castro thanked Rebelo de Sousa for Portugal’s attitude to Cuba and stressed the firmness of the Cuban people, who were willing not to forget the considerable human and economic damage caused by the blockade and the brutal and inhuman nature of the policy.
Rebelo de Sousa will end his visit to Cuba today with several activities, including a keynote speech at the Main Lecture hall of the Havana University. (Taken from Prensa Latina)
