Cargando...Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Abelardo Moreno, this morning June 2, inaugurated the 7th ACS/AEC Summit, noting that today participants will focus on two central documents: the Declaration of Havana and the 2016-2018 Action Plan.
The meeting of meeting of high level officials is initiating negotiations on these texts, which will be subsequently approved by heads of state on the Summit’s final day.
The gathering’s central focus is expressed in the maxim, «Promoting the sustainable development of the Greater Caribbean,» which will be discussed along with climate change, responding to natural disasters, inter-Caribbean transportation, and multi-destination tourism, among other issues.
Cuba assumed the organization’s pro tempore presidency January 19, this year, following Haiti’s mandate, in a ceremony held in Port-au-Prince. (Taken from granma.cu)
