Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, and President of the Councils of State and Ministers, yesterday April 5, received Sun Zhengcai, member of the Communist Party of China’s Political Bureau and secretary of the Chongqing Municipal Committee.
In a fraternal environment, the leaders reconfirmed their interest in strengthening the historic ties between the two Parties, governments and peoples. Sun Zhengcai explained the outcomes of the recent Communist Party of China Central Committee 5th Plenum, as well as the economic and social objectives agreed upon during the meeting.
Also participating were José Ramón Machado Ventura, second secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba’s Central Committee; and José Ramón Balaguer Cabrera, member of the Secretariat, and head of its department of international relations. (Taken from granma.cu)
