During the cordial meeting, held in the afternoon of March 2, the two leaders talked about the positive state of bilateral relations, which this year celebrate their 70th anniversary, and about the gradual strengthening of the economic-commercial bonds and cooperation between the two countries. They also spoke about issues of mutual interest on the international agenda.
Accompanying the distinguished visitor were Helmut Freudenschuss, Ambassador, Director of the Presidential Cabinet; Andreas Schieder, President of the Parliamentary Group of the Social Democratic Party; Reinhold Lopatka, President of the Parliamentary Group of the Austrian People’s Party; and Gerlinde Paschinger, Ambassador of Austria to Havana.
Also representing Cuba at the meeting were Ricardo Cabrisas, vice president of the Council of Ministers; Bruno Rodriguez and Rodrigo Malmierca, ministers of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and Investment, respectively, and Yolanda Ferrer, president of the International Relations Committee of the Cuban Parliament.
