In Palestine, we feel pride of the support we have received from Cuba during so many years in different international events and forums and we come here to show solidarity with the Caribbean island, said Al-Maliki after paying homage to the Cuban national hero Jose Marti at the Revolution Square.
In this respect, he added that Cuba’s support to Palestine is constant, characterized by its great commitment and based on principles of solidarity, and we wanted to be here to thank this country for all of that and to see how we can keep improving and developing even more the bilateral relations, he said.
In his statements to the media, the Foreign minister said his people’s struggle continues, in order to free Palestine from the Israeli occupation. We are a State occupied by another State and thus, we will continue the battle until making our territory free, he asserted.
In that regard, he also asserted that it had been a long harsh struggle, but also we always had support from sister nations as Cuba, which although is geographically far, is close to our heart.
Cuba ratified its support to the recognition and exercise of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and their State, recognized by 130 nations and also as formal observer State at the UN General Assembly. (Taken from Prensa Latina)
