Children’s Party in Havana

A great children’s party, organized by La Colmenita (children’s theater group The Beehive), was held on Sunday, January 4 at the sports coliseum in Havana, Ciudad Deportiva directed by Carlos Alberto Cremata as part of the celebrations of the 56th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution by children, adolescents and young people in general dressed with a disguise.

The Cuban Five Heroes attended the celebrations where Yuniasky Crespo and Sucelys Morfa, first and second secretaries of the Young Communist League (UJC) handed in their honor credentials to participate in the 10th Congress of the UJC’s. Alicia Jrapko, coordinator of the International Solidarity Committee for the Freedom of the Cuban Five was also present.

This activity was organized by the UJC, Jose Marti’s Pioneers’ organization, the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT), the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER) and La Colmenita. The Children’s Ballet from the ICRT, the National Cuban Circus and the Company P.M.M (Por un Mundo Mejor=For a Better World) also performed besides several sports demonstrations that also celebrated the 53rd anniversary of the Special Education in Cuba, one of the most emblematic projects carried out by the Revolution. The best children’s songs awarded by Cantandole al Sol Competitions (Children’s competition program Singing to the Sun) were performed.

Most of the children attended the activity with colored disguises that brightened the activity.

The party ended with the famed music of Van Van orchestra played by the little musicians from La Colmenita.

The most important leaders of the sponsored organizations and Cuban Olympic champions were also present.
