I not always agree the decision of the referees in the Baseball National Series; but during the second match Matanzas-Industriales, the main referee, Juan de Dios Leon was right with the sending-off which ordered the game which could be complicated beyond Matanzas´ triumph 10-7.
Left handed Leorisbel Sanchez hit Yasiel Santoya and the main referee called the two managers of the teams and warned them, and made himself clear that if there is another hit to a batter, the pitcher will be sent-off. Then, Yulieski came to bat and the ball hit him, so the referee sent-off the pitcher and the manager. Victor Mesa angrily protested, but he was previously warned.
We can analyze if in both cases it was intentionally or not, but the fact is that both teams were warned and in this case it is better to prevent to avoid violent actions. This time, I agree with the decision of the referee.
Meanwhile, in Calixto Garcia stadium, Cuban province of Holguin there was the match between Pinar del Rio and Holguin. Thanks to the home run of Guillermo Aviles with Daniel Castro in base, Holguin won Pinar del Rio 2-1.
The current champions crossed “Niagara Falls on bike” victoriously (7-6) in its second commitment with Santiago de Cuba, in a challenge where Yandrys Canto wore his home run dress in Matanzas team and Reutilio Hurtado with his 13th homerun.
Artemisa won Isla de la Juventud (8-2) thanks to the pitcher Yulieski Gonzalez and a bunch of runs (6) in the 9th inning Frederich Cepeda (3-1and three pushed) and Alexander Ayala (4-1 and two pushed).
These subseries will en don Thursday.
